Add to this its delicate, aromatic fragrance and we have a winter bloomer which all must admit stands without a rival. For open ground culture they do well if pro- tected from freezing severely. No bulb is more valuable for winter blooming than this. ;iOc. each ; 75c. per doz. 310 Ornithogalum Umbellatum. The true Star of Bethehem. Blooms about the middle of spring. Flowers borne _ in umbels on stems six inches in height; satiny white inside and white with a green stripe outside; very pretty, a free bloomer and quite hardy.^ 8 for 10c.; per doz , 30c. GIANT CAPE HYACINTH (Galtonia,'or Hyacinthus Candicans) 311 This plant somewhat resembles the Yucca, although not so large. It throws up a ' flower stem about 4 ft. high, on which it bears from 20 to 30 pure white bell-shaped flowers. They are very gracefully hung, forming an almost perfect pyramid. They are quite hardy, but it is well to give them a slight covering for winter.
