English: Waterlily Note: though the Smithsonian website calls this pastel Ophelia and dates it ca. 1909, Jean Kling's biography of Alice Pike Barney (Smithsonian Institution Press, 1994, ISBN 1-56098-344-2) gives the title Waterlily and identifies it as an illustration for the poem 'Rien ne te peut toucher et rien ne t'emeut' in her daughter Natalie Clifford Barney's 1900 book Quelques Portraits-Sonnets de Femmes.
