As the figure does not agree with the description, Oberthiir(1916: 226), who accepted figures in preference to descriptions, proposedthe name bachagha for the species which Duponchel had described asalgira. The name bachagha Oberthiir can only be treated as a synonymof algira Duponchel (Tremewan, 1961: 257). This synonymy was originallycited by Rothschild (1917: 338) and was later accepted by Reiss (1930: 25).As Duponchels figure does not agree with his description it is possiblethat an aberrant specimen was illustrated.
