The Wastemen, an environmentally friendly 75ft high giant sculpture made entirely of rubbish by sculptor Antony Gormley


Construction worker Will Shannon absails down Sculptor Antony Gormley s 75ft tall Wasteman fixing old chairs and bedheads to its mighty frame. The gigantic figure, made of hundreds of discarded chairs, tables, beds, bookcases, toilet seats and other household items was being built on the Dreamland site in Margate Kent next to the scenic railway The sculpture was part of The Margate Exodus project by Arts Charity Artangel which ended with the statue being burnt on 1st October 2006.
