Aneurysm of the descending thoracic aorta. An aneurysm is a localized dilation of a blood vessel (blood bag), of which the rupture can be fatal (hemorrhage). The main localizations of aneurysms are at the level of the cerebral arteries and the aorta. The main cause is atherosclerosis.
