A view of a temporary Karen refugee camp on the Myanmar side of the Moei River which forms the border with Thailand. The refugees fled fighting between the Myanmar army (Tatmadaw) and insurgent groups. Fighting has intensified since the February 2021 Coup led by General Min Aung Hlaing. The Karen refugee settlement lies on the Myanmar side of the Moei River which forms the border with Thailand.
