MEDITERRANEAN SEA (Dec. 28, 2016) Gas Turbine Systems Technician (Electrical) 2nd Class Chad Mercer, from Port Saint Lucie, Fla., holds a simulated fire flag towards hose team members while in a dark space aboard the guided-missile cruiser USS Monterey (CG 61) during a general quarters drill. Monterey, deployed as part of the Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group, is conducting naval operations in the 6th Fleet area of operations in support of national security interests in Europe.
