An occasional spraying with Bordeaux mixture, which should be applied early in the growing season, usually prevents the disease, which is prevalent in some localities. A charming variety, for which we were awarded a certi- ficate of merit by the Royal Horticultural Society of England. Mammoth flowers, wonderfully formed of loosely arranged fringed petals. The colors vary from the palest shrimp-pink to deep red. Mixed colors only. Single. Many prefer the single-flowering Hollyhocks. They are usually of freer growth than the doubles, and present a very handsome appearance when covered with their artistic blossoms.
