The standing stone in the Froggatt Edge Stone Circle (aka Stoke Flat Stone Circle) in the Derbyshire Peak District. It dates to the Bronze Age 2350 BCE - 701 BCE. It is about 12 metres in diameter and is formed of stones placed at regular intervals. The largest standing stone, shown in this image, is about metres high. Five smaller stones can be seen although it has been suggested it may have originally had up o 16 stones to complete the circle. A number of celestial alignments have been suggested to coincide with Celtic site is quite overgrown with moorland vegetation and grass. It is a Scheduled Monument and thus protected by law.
