Mr. Wilton said that the Conduit was not removed at the passingof the Act of 1749. The reason, probably, was this :—At the end of theAct is a Schedule of the different things authorised to be removed, includingthe Church of the Holy Trinity, and the Kings Board.^ But Scrivens CrossL We are informed by iMr. Wilton that the place known as the Kings Board was an oldbuilding, on the roof of which was a resevoir for water.—Ed,. As the Act was obtained by the corporation inorder to widen the streets, they probably removed the cross on their ownauthority. At the conclusion of reading the Papers, Sir John Maclean, who hadtaken the chair after the President had been obliged to leave, proposed avote of thanks to the several gentlemen for the interesting Papers they hadkindly read, and to Messrs. Wilton, C. H. Dancey, and J. Mills, for thework they had done in connection with organising the Temporary Museumat the Tolsey. This was heartily passed, and the Meeting concluded.
