Marine Corps Lt. Col. Jose L. Montalvan, the district regional operations officer for 6th Marine Corps District, gives a speech after receiving the Volunteer of 2021 Award during the Beaufort-Jasper YMCA of the Lowcountry annual meeting in Beaufort, South Carolina, Feb. 24, 2022. Montalvan volunteered for approximately 200 hours as the sports coach for the 3-4 year-old soccer league and the 7-8 year-old soccer-league.
