Oga lotuses at the Koga multi-purpose park in Ibaraki Japan Asia


The Koga multi-purpose park won "international UNESCO Melina Mercouri Prize"about culture scene protection and the management for the first time in the park, there are peach trees, an Oga lotus and many plants, restored damp ground, grove of miscellaneous trees and seed of the lotus 2000 years ago was discovered in Chiba-city in 1951. The finders succeeded in the germination of one seed among three. It was named "an Oga lotus" in connection with the name of Dr. Ichiro Oga who discovered them. Koga-city, Ibaraki got it from Chiba-city.
