ELBOW, DRAWING

Pronation of the elbow articulation. Pronation is the movement of the forearm inward (palm of the hand downward). The bone of the arm, the humerus, articulates at the level of the elbow with two bones of the forearm, the radius and the cubitus (or ulna). The distal extremity of the humerus encompassed a round protuberance, the capitulum (in blue), that articulates with the radial head (in blue). The other region of the humerus extremity is the trochlea (in blue) that articulates with the cubitus. During pronation, the radius turns on itself around the cubitus. See. images 8514406 and 8515406 for the movements of flexion and supination.
