September, 11th 2015, New York, NY : Users of the drug K 2 openly smoke it on an area of Harlem known as " K 2 Ally. " K 2 also known as " Spice, " " Black Mamba, " and " Bombay Blue, " is a sythetic form of marijuana that has had users ending up in emergency rooms in hospitals in New York City. K 2 is cheap, powerful and wildly unperdictable in quality. NYPD Commissioner William Bratton has described K 2 as " weaponized marijuana, " that can make users go, " totally crazy. " Using or selling K 2 isn't a criminal offense, though some lawmakers are trying to outlaw it. Federal drug enforcement officials say the chameleon - like compound's of K 2 change faster than it can be banned.
