Forsyth and Whipple were in charge. THE PANTASOTE COMPANY, 29 Broadway, New York,had a very handsome exhibit, and showed several new designs insilks and woven fabrics. Pantasote has been long known to thetrade, and needs no explanation to convention goers, and is lookedupon and recognized by the railway world at large as one of the. VIEWS IN AND AROUND THE CONVENTION HALL by C. F. Smith, manager, and exhibited its system of cast-ironpaving blocks, whereby a girder rail may be practically trans-formed into a grooved rail. These hollow cast-iron blocks slipover the tram of the rail, and weigh, in the heaviest types, 27 yard of rail. Two years ago 9000 ft. of this rail was laid inSpringfield, and is reported to have been an excellent investment. POMEROY & FISCHER, New York, importers of varnishesand colors, had a handsome little display. Joseph Pomeroy waspresent at the convention. THE PAIGE IRON WORKS, of Chicago, were representedin the person of E. S. Nethercut, its engineer, who distributedliterature relating to the companys work from a booth under thewest gallery.
