Competitors running at the Bupa London 10,000 run on Monday 25th May 2015

Founded in 2008, the Bupa London 10,000 has grown each year and is now known as one of the best, and most popular, road races around. The inaugural race saw 6,103 finishers, a figure that increased in each of the next six editions and had almost doubled by the time 12,133 runners crossed the Finish Line in 2014. Lasse Viren, the Olympic legend who won gold medals at both 5000m and 10,000m in 1972 and 1976 set the runners on their way in the first race, which took place on a course designed with the 2012 Olympic marathon in mind. Kenya’s Micah Kogo triumphed in a field including Mo Farah and marathon legend Martin Lel, while Irina Mikitenko won the first women’s race.
