Mr. B. wished to be hypnotized, as heintended in the near future to deliver a series of lectures, and hedesired to have his oratorical powers developed through hyp-notic suggestions. After a lapse of eight minutes I broughthim into a deep hypnose, during which I suggested to him thathe inside of two minutes would rise from the chair, and, withinspiration, in clear expressive terms, deliver a lecture upon thesubject which I then named. At the same time I gave himthe idea that he was then appearing on the stage in CentralMusic Hall before a large and brilliant audience.
