He is the third of a family of thirteenchildren, of whom eleven are now living ; his father was born in PennsylvaniaApril 1, 1800, and his mother was born iu New York in the year 1806; hisfather settled in this county in the year 1818; his parents, soon after the mar-riage, settled on the firm now occupied by the County Infirmary, where he re-mained about three years, when he settled upon the farm where he now lived with his parents upon the farm until he was twenty-four years of
