In the background of the shot, the red heart heart, near the base of Blackpool Tower, is 9m (29 ft) wide and has been recently installed as a display of love for the town. The sculpture is made up of 900 programmable LEDs and is a quarter of the way up the west side of the tower. The tip of the heart is about 39m (128 ft) above the promenade. The heart is part of the computer-controlled lighting system at the top of the tower and can be operated in isolation or in combination with the lighting further up, here a beautiful array of blue, red, purple, green colours. The blue Bling Jewels above the promenade at this location are sponsored by Beaverbrook the Jewellers.
