. Burpee's farm annual. Nursery stock Pennsylvania Philadelphia Catalogs; Flowers Catalogs; Vegetables Catalogs; Seeds Catalogs; W. Atlee Burpee Company; Nursery stock; Flowers; Vegetables; Seeds. So favorably were we impressed with the glowing reports of the unusual value of this distinct new Corn, grown in Northern Ohio on the borders of Lake Erie, that we contracted for the exclusive right of its in- troduction, provided the result of experiments and trials at Fordhook Farm and the growing crops at its home should prove satisfactory. The illustration of an ear herewith was accurately engraved from a photograph. From the extensive trials at Fordhook Farm our Superintendent made the following im- partial notes :— " Grows six to seven feet in height; stalks stiff but rather slen- der ; abundant foliage; large, tine ear, eight to ten inches long, well filled to the tip, sixteen to eighteen rowed ; ears two inches in diameter, with small cob ; grains large, deep ; outer end of the grain white, deeply dented, balance of grain amber-yellow. Grains Hat and set squarely together, solidly filling the entire surface of the ear. It is now well ripened and fit to cut, while the fodder is still green and will make a good forage ; It certainly is a valuable variety, possessing the earliuess of the Pride of the North combined with ears of very large size. Our grower says he will guarantee this Corn to mature in ninety to ninety-Jive days after planting and to grow a larger crop on poor soil than any other Corn in the world. The handsome grains are of true Dent type, sweet and nutritious. Prices : Per pkt. 10 cts.; per lb 30 cts.• 3 lbs. for 75 cts., post- paid, by mail. By express or freight: Per peck 6o cts.; per bushel $ ; per sack of two bushels $ Ten bushels or more at $ per bushel. Sacks included without charge. EARLY MASTODON DENT CORN. Descriptive of this Corn we quote the following:— " I claim that it is the largest-eared early Dent
