Carved tympanum & lintel of the blocked C11th W doorway of St John the Baptist's Church, Ault Hucknall, Derbyshire, England, UK. Upper L: St Margaret of Antioch with a cross & palm of martyrdom rising unharmed from the body of a dragon which had swallowed her. Sometimes described as a centaur. Upper R: Agnes Dei, the Lamb of God, with the Banner of Victory. Below: a soldier with sword, shield & mail coat confronts a mythical beast. Most probably St George & the dragon (wyvern). Another suggestion is St Michael fighting Leviathan.
