It is located at Tempe, a cityof 1,600 inhabitants, nine miles fromPhoenix, the capital of Arizona. Rail-road communication with all parts ofthe Territory is furnished by thePhoenix & Eastern Railroad, givingdirect connection with the main lines*of the Southern Pacific and Santa Fe systems. Tempe is situated in the midst of the fertile Salt RiverValley, one of the finest agricultural sections of the residents are thrifty and industrious people, engagedin farming and fruit raising.
