The Eldred Homestead. nrmS house is situated on the Quissett Harbor road, near the shore, over-^ looking the harbor with its surroundings. It was built as early as 1790,by Captain Lemuel Eldred, upon his farm of two hundred acres, and stillretains the greater portion of its original materials. Always owned andoccupied by his descendants in a direct line, it has been the home of CaptainWilliam Eldred, Deacon Lorenzo Eldred, and is at present that of DeaconEldreds wife, Mercy F., and a son, Charles H. Eldred. 85
