For example,the study which ought to have occupied the south-east cornerof the easternmost room (No. 3, E) loses its light, althoughthe window still remains in the wall. In the two upper floorseach chamber, by the contract, had but a single study, whichmay still be traced in one or other of the northern corners ofnearly every room. In the walls of the Legge Building next the street the windowsare disposed so that a three-light window is always flanked by asingle-light window, the former for the chamber, the latter for apair of studies, marked I, 2; 4, 5, in the alternate chambers; andthese (with one exception) are also the positions of the studiesin the seco
