Marthe Brandès studied the arts and then trained as an actress with Gustave Worms. She played at the Comédie-Française and at the Vaudeville, and also she was at the Théâtre de la Renaissance , where Lucien Guitry was her stage partner, the Opéra-Comique, the Theater Porte-Sainte-Marie and the Gymnase to see. She embodied many figures from Alexandre Dumas the Younger , Georges de Porto-Rich and Paul Bourget . 1891 encountered her interpretation of Hedda Gabler to the audience's displeasure after expressing her antipathy for the character before the performance began. Marthe Brandès played Dona Dolores in Patrie in 1901, in 1908 the Gabrielle in Un divorce by Paul Bourget and André Cury, in 1913 the Princess Gina in L'exilée by Henry Kistenmaecker. In 1914 she ended her stage career. Soon afterwards she founded L'Abri du Soldat Aveugle, an institution for soldiers who had lost their sight. She was accepted into the Legion of Honor for her commitment to the rehabilitation of soldiers - Wikipedia
