Proboscis fully developed ; palpi upturned, hardly reaching vertex of head; antennae bipectinate with short branches in both sexes ; tibiae with the spurs moderate. Fore wing with veins 3, 4, 5 from angle of cell; 6 from upper angle; 7,8,9 stalked; 10, 11 free; male with an elongate fovea below the cell containing a large brush of hair covered by the greatly lobed costa of hind wing which is truncate at apex.
