Portrait of Gavrilo Prinzip and a photograph of his arrest for the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand (1894-1918). He was a 19 year old Bosnian Serb who was a member of 'Young Bosnia', a movement that sought an end to Austro-Hungarian rule in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In Sarajevo on 28 June 1914 he assassinated Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria and his wife, Sophie, Duchess of Hohenberg, .
