A groupof men and apes are gathering fruit in a grove ofdom-palms, two natives in striped waist-cloths, witha long feather stuck in their hair, are each of themleading a tame giraffe on a men of the same tribe arekneeling on the ground and beg-ging for mercy from the Egyptiansoldiery, while negro prisonerslaid flat on the ground are withdifficulty raising their heads andshoulders. A cup with a shallowbase and a high conical coverstands up among the the workmen who carried out this designstudied richness
