Resembles the American, but is more vigorous; foliage larger, and remarkably high-colored in autumn. 50c. A. Veitchii. Japan Creeper. Boston Ivy. Leaves smaller than those of the American, and overlap one another, forming a dense sheet of green. The plant is a little tender while young, and requires pro- tection the first -winter ; but once established, there is no further risk. It grows rapidly and clings to wall or fence with the tenacity of Ivy ; the foliage is ver\- handsome in summer, and changes to crimson scarlet in autumn.
