Ont., ran over to Chicago to have a look at the things of trade interest here, spending February 22 and 23 in visiting florists. One of the week's visitors at the store of the A. L. Bandall Co. was George Schlecht manager of the North- ern Evergreen Co., of Duluth, on his way east. J. C. Steinhauser, of Pittsburg, Kan., spent February 23 visiting numerous wholesale houses in this market. He came from Pittsburg to Galesburg Feb- ruary 20, accompanying the remains of W. L. Packard, who died in Pittsburg, and who was buried at Galesburg Feb- ruary 20 by the Elks. Mr. Packard was 48 years of age, and until 1913 had been associated with the Steinhauser Florist & Nursery Co. Among those noted in the market last week were B. Jurgens, Peoria, HI.; S. W. Pike, St. Charles, 111. MILWAUKEE, WIS. The Market. This city is enjoying a trade that is extremely good for this time of year. The retailers had a large business for St. Valentine's day, and all are well satisfied. Trade would be increased to a great extent if it were possible to increase the cut of roses. This stock IS still scarce, ?nd it is next to impos- sible to meet the demand. The quality of the stock, however, is fine, especially Killarney, which has a good color, con- sidering the existing conditions. Carnations have shortened up con- siderably, but the cut is still sufficient to supply the demand, which is always strong for this stock. Bulbous stock is arriving in quantity an
