We omitted (from lack of an authorised prize-list) to mention that the head prize in the Hereford yearling-bull class was awarded to Mr. Duckham's Commodore, a son of the old cow Carlisle, of the Silver tribe, which was purchased, as a speculative bargain, at Lord Berwick's sale. In consequence of his dam having "foot and mouth," he was only nursed at the teat six weeks; but he has thriven apace, and now girths 7 ft. 6 in. at twenty-two months. Such receipts and the Treaty of Hereford between the All Red and White Face tribes will give the society henceforward a national importance, such as it has never yet possessed'.
