Cataract and retinal detachment in Coats' disease. Close-up of the eye of 31-year-old male patient with a cataract (clouding of the lens, centre-left) and detached retina caused by Coats' disease. Coats' disease, or exudative retinitis, is a very rare congenital non-hereditary eye disorder, causing full or partial blindness and characterised by abnormal development of blood vessels behind the retina of the eye.
