IN 1974 THE RIDERSHIP TOTALLED 293 MILLION UP FROM 273 MILLION IN 1971. IMPROVEMENTS IN EQUIPMENTS, SERVICE AND FRINGE PARKING WERE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE INCREASE.
