The burning of texts in 213 BC by the First Emperor of the Qin dynasty of ancient China, Qin Shi Huang. Wishing for literature to begin with his reign he ordered the burning of all books save those on medicine, divination, agriculture, and forestry. Qin Shi Huang, 259 BC – 1 210 BC.
