Lyme Park south facing portico, in the classical Palladian style, surmounted with representations of Neptune, Venus and Pan.

Lyme Park nr. Stockport, Cheshire, was the home of the Legh family for almost 600 years. In 1720 Sir Peter Legh commissioned the Venetian architect Giacomo Leoni, an exponent of the classical Palladian style, to remodel the south face by constructing a portico, in the classical Palladian style, surmounted with representations of Neptune, Venus and Pan.
