McCormick motor is a double cylinder, lo-horse-power gasoline engine. The oil tank is dividedinto three compart-ments : one for oil,one for batteries, andone for water. Poweris transmitted fromthe motor by sprocketwheels and chain toa friction clutchplaced on the crossshaft of the clutch is so ar-ranged as to engageeither one bevel-gearwheel or another placed on each side, and in this way the machine canbe run backward and forward at will. The bevel-gear wheels engagea pinion which serves to operate the fly-wheel shaft and cutter bar.
