Monarchs Arrive in North Texas and Nectar Abounds Upon Arrival
The annual migration of the Monarch Butterflies cross North Texas. The butterflies stop to refuel their energyon high nectar plants. Then, the foruth generation which makes this trip in whole, goes on to the mountains of Northern Mexico to winter lay their eggs on milkweed and die. They take three generations to get back north before the fourth generation begins the journey next year of 2000 miles. Amazing. I have followed the Monarchs for 50 years and they are as fascinating today as they were 50 years ago. . I look forward to the migration each year.
