The small shellfish fishing port of Kallin Harbour on the island of Grimsay in the Outer Hebrides

Kallin harbour was built under the EEC Integrated Development Programme for the Western Isles in 1985. Its construction uses a technique known as 'rock box' developed by the Western Isles Island Council Enginerering Services Department. The harbour is used as a base by the local shellfish industry - mainly dealing in prawns, lobsters and scallops.
