Aarhus, Denmark. 21st Jan, 2017. Denmark’s second city, Aarhus, has been recognised as the 2017 European Capital of Culture and hosted the opening ceremony in style. Aarhus will use the year’s festivities to promote the diversity of culture in the city and can expect to welcome around 10 million visitors throughout the year. Tourists and locals alike will be treated to hundreds of events, performances and art installations all year which are expected to generate upwards of €800m in tourism.
