La Boca, Buenos Aires, Argentina - The figure of football legend Diego Maradona greets tourists in front of a shop. At the back, the La Bombonera stadium in blue and yellow. La Boca, colourfully painted houses in the harbour district around the alleyway El Caminito. La Boca emerged at the end of the 19th century as a neighbourhood of Italian immigrants, most of whom worked as industrial workers. Today, the working-class neighbourhood is popular with tourists, partly because of its original houses, often built from the sheet metal of scrapped ships and brightly painted with ship paint.
