To sterilize it, put in an oven with a slowheat, about right for baking cake, and leave it there for onehour; the oven should be hot enough to just slightly scorch thepaper, and turn the cotton plugs in the glass tubes just a littlebrown; if too hot, the cotton inside the tube will be burned toomuch, but the cotton plugs and the paper will indicate theamount of heat to use.
