The two kinds were together in alaro-e straggling flock. Still later I shot a third, smaller yet, blackwith a black tail, a clear yellow rump, under tail-coverts, and wing-spot. Its bill, which was slightly curved, was a pinkish ivory, andthe feathers of the crown were slightly prolonged {Cassicus Jiavl-crissiis). This also, like the first two, had white bases to thefeathers of the nape. These birds build together in number of times, along the river, we saw in large detached treesa dozen or more of their nests hanging like stockings from theextremities of the branches.
