JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Jan. 18, 2018) Hospitalman Rouvier Mervius, a native of Saint-Louis, Haiti, works in Naval Hospital Jacksonville’s laboratory. His job consists of accessioning specimens, properly labeling them, and then distributing the specimens to the appropriate work center inside the laboratory. Mervius knew when he earned his Bachelor of Science in Public Health at Georgia Southern University, that he wanted to join the military. Once I became a corpsman, I knew that was the field I wanted to be in. I now plan on becoming an officer in the medical field and continuing my career with the Navy. I have a very important job in the hospital’s laboratory now. This has been such a rewarding experience.”
