Nikiszowiec, historical coal mining district of city Katowice, Poland


Nikiszowiec is a historical district of Katowice city, Upper Silesia, Poland. Settlement was built for coal miners working in Giesche mine between 1908 and 1918. Settlement name come from the name of mine shaft, Nikischschacht (ger.). Popular while tenements building were red frames around windows. Nowadays Nikiszowiec is famous destination place of lots of tourists.
