LOCOG and British Airways are proud to announce Park Live, a dedicated area for up to 10,000 fans at a time with giant screens and picnic lawns in acres of newly created parklands in the Olympic Park. Park Live offers the perfect location for a picnic or meeting place for friends and family, as well as the only place in the Olympic Park to watch live action on giant screen. Hundreds of British Airways Hosts will be on hand to help you through your visit. Park Live hopes to be the ‘Henman Hill’ of the Games, where you can hear from medal-winning athletes, watch the action live on screen, or simply enjoy a relaxing time on the new riverside lawns. Park Live will be open from early morning to late evening for spectators to visit before and after sporting events on the Olympic Park. LOCOG has also outlined its ambition to offer general Park tickets, enabling people to come into the Olympic Park without tickets for sporting events. At the heart of Park Live is a platform raised on columns above the river, with a giant double-sided screen broadcasting live coverage from BBC and Channel 4. The platform also includes the British Airways Stage, where athletes can be interviewed after competing, allowing fans to get up close to the real winners and other stars. It will also feature entertainment and short films on the creation of the parklands.
