A little above a line from Xo. i to Xo. 2 in the gulch is anopen cut 8 feet deep, showing fissures in the sandstone, dip-ping northeast, filled with silica and seams of cinnabar asso-ciated with iron sulphide. Thelower tunnel, Xo. 5, 300 feet long, course nearly east andwest, is entirely in slate. Xeither of these tunnels has reachedthe ore deposits as yet.
