Pursuing our way along theCorso, we reach the spot, marked by a tablet on the wall, where the ViaFlaminia was spanned by the triumphal arch of Antoninus Pius. Thecolunm of Antoninus was erected to Marcus Aurelius, 174. It is 125ft. in height, and is formed of twenty-eight blocks of marble. It is coveredwith sculpture in bas-relief.
