The Amphitheatre is a prominent portion of the northern Drakensberg mountains, the highest range of mountains in South Amphitheatre wall which is 1,000 metres high and stretches over 5 km, is site to the World's second highest waterfall, the Tugela Falls. The park is part of the greater World Heritage site, Drakensberg Ukhahlamba National Park.
