The crater consists of two oblong openings,the larger of which is twenty feet long and three feet of the Monarch occur without warning, and con-sist of a series of explosions in which columns of waterare thrown 100 feet high. The intervals between eruptionsare about six hours. Fearless Gteyser, situated 500 feet south of theMinute Man Geyser, throws jets of water in every directionduring eruptions. Norris is the newest geyser basin in YEI^LOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK 51.
