We? also learned that their catches chiefly consisted of hake {Merhiccius vu/gaj'is), which, as a rule, made up two-thirds of the whole ; soles [Solea vulgaris), and different kinds of silvery or brilliantly- coloured spiny-finned fish (mostly Sparidse), which they call 'salmon.'
